October 2014 - Loving Black - performed at The Alloy Studios operated by the Kelly Strayhorn Theatre as part of the Fresh Works program.

 

October 2014 - Four Men - A collaborative dance performance including three male dancers and myself exploring masculinity and femininity. This work was part of On The Edge of Night, a live music, spoken word, and dance performance directed by Anqwenquie Wingfeild at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater with poet Yona Harvey and composer Daniel Bernard Roumain.

 

May 2014 - Uncertain - Presented at 720 Music and Clothing store. A site specific solo dance performance where I experimented with space and yoga practice.

 

April 2014 - She: Love & Fear -  A 20 minute dance performed by Carnegie Mellon University’s Infra Dance Company. Inspired by Gerald G. Jampolsky’s Love Is Letting Go of Fear, fourteen dancers create a dream world in which one female dancer explores the connection of love and fear. Infra Dance Company presented this work at their annual mainstage performance at Carnegie Mellon University.

 

January 2014 - The Dance We Dance - A 10 minute dance theater performance inspired by Martin Luther King Jr’s speech I Have a Dream. This work was a celebration of diversity among seven young women. Performed by the Hope Academy Theatre Company during the Martin Luther King, Jr. day celebration at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater.  

 

December 2013 - Trio Sweet - A 15 minute dance performed by a dancer, violinist, and myself in which we merged hip hop dance with classical music to challenge societal perspectives. Presented during Bach Boom Box, a collaborative performance with The Groove Aesthetic at The Alloy Studios.

 

October 2013 - Identity - Inspired by seven diverse dancers and their personal life experiences in which they felt oppressed. This 15 minute dance performance was the result of  self exploration by the dancers in an attempt to accept diversity and overcome self hate. Presented during the newMoves Contemporary Dance Festival at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater.

 

May 2013 - What’s Going On - Inspired by Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On, twelve dancers move together to rebuild the community around them to create a better, safer place.  Performed by Reed Dance (formerly know as the August Wilson Center Dance Ensemble) as part of the Pittsburgh Pride Festival.

 

January 2013 - Time. - An exploration in movement on one man’s fear of getting older. I performed this work during The Only Way Up is Down, a collaborative performance at the Pittsburgh Dance Center.
