January 2015 - The Block- Inspired by Romare Bearden’s The Block,  eleven young women experience a day of grief, sorrow, happiness, and new beginnings. In January 2015 Hope Academy Theatre Company performed an exceprt of this work during the Martin Lurther King Jr. celebration at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater .

 

Hope Academy of Music and the Arts offers a safe place where young people of diverse ethnic, economic, and religious backgrounds can further their personal and artistic growth through the study and performance of theater, dance and music. As a residenct teaching artist Anthony has been working with the Hope Academy dance ensemble creating this work to reflect the past and present repersentatives of young people in Pittsburgh.
